Wir Macher des Festivals sind sehr stolz und zufrieden. Trotz einiger Pannen und Ungewissheiten hat letztendlich alles geklappt: Alle Filme konnten gezeigt werden, alle eingeladenen G\u00e4ste sind rechtzeitig gekommen und es gab bei fast allen Vorf\u00fchrungen regen Zuspruch.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Die absoluten Renner vor ausverkauftem Saal waren der wunderbare Film unseres diesj\u00e4hrigen Schirmherrn Dani Kouyat\u00e9 aus Burkina Faso <strong>&#8220;Soleils&#8221;,<\/strong> das Fl\u00fcchtlingsdrama <strong>&#8220;Hope&#8221;<\/strong> von Boris Lojkine sowie <strong>&#8220;Finding Fela&#8221; <\/strong>von Alex Gibney<strong>,<\/strong> das spannende Portrait des Begr\u00fcnders des Afrobeat aus Nigeria.<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-bottom: none;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"border-bottom: medium none; text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2858\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image004.png\" alt=\"image004\" width=\"336\" height=\"190\" \/><br \/>\nHope<\/td>\n<td style=\"border-bottom: medium none; text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2859\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image006.png\" alt=\"image006\" width=\"305\" height=\"190\" \/><br \/>\nFinding Fela<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Der Film <strong>&#8220;Soleils&#8221;<\/strong> beeindruckte durch seine ruhige Erz\u00e4hlweise. <strong>Dani Kouyat\u00e9<\/strong>, der selbst aus einer Griotfamilie stammt, f\u00fchrt dabei die traditionelle Form des Erz\u00e4hlens in, wie er sagte, dem zeitgem\u00e4\u00dfen Medium des Films weiter. Selten ist in einem afrikanischen Film so tief in der Tradition und der Philosophie eines afrikanischen Volkes gegraben worden. Besonders beeindruckend die Aufdeckung der Menschenrechtserkl\u00e4rung im gro\u00dfen Mandigoreich in Westafrika 500 Jahre vor der Deklaration der Menschenrechte in Europa. Damit stellt der Film heraus, dass Afrika durchaus kein dunkler und geschichtsloser Kontinent ist, wie selbst gro\u00dfe europ\u00e4ische Denker es behaupteten.<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-bottom: none;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"border-bottom: medium none; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image008-e1448457625423.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2860\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image008-e1448457625423.png\" alt=\"image008\" width=\"352\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nSoleils<\/td>\n<td style=\"border-bottom: medium none; text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2861\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image010.png\" alt=\"image010\" width=\"274\" height=\"190\" \/><br \/>\nDani Kouyat\u00e9<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Besonders positive Resonanz gab es bei dem Film <strong>&#8220;Miners shot down&#8221;<\/strong> von Rehad Desai, der sowohl die politischen als auch die individuellen Aspekte der Niederschie\u00dfung friedlich demonstrierender Minenarbeiter in S\u00fcdafrika zeigte. In der anschlie\u00dfende Diskussion mit dem britischen <strong>Anwalt James Nichol<\/strong> wurde noch einmal deutlich, wie dieser gewaltsam beendete Streik durch die regierende Partei ANC unter dem Pr\u00e4sidenten Jacob Zuma die politische Landschaft S\u00fcdafrikas auf Dauer ver\u00e4ndert hat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image012.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2862 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image012.png\" alt=\"image012\" width=\"464\" height=\"314\" \/><\/a>\u00dcberhaupt waren in diesem Jahr die <strong>Dokumentarfilme<\/strong> die beeindruckenden. Es sind authentische Filme, die die Lebensbedingungen in afrikanischen Regionen intensiv beschreiben. Diarra<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Eingeladen hatten wir die beiden Filmemacher Filipe Henriques aus Guinea Bissau mit seinem Film &#8220;<strong>O Espinho da Rosa&#8221;<\/strong> und Cheick Fantamady Camara aus Guinea mit <strong>&#8220;Morbayassa \u2013 Le serment de Koumba&#8221;. <\/strong>Die Diskussion nach Henriques ungew\u00f6hnlichem und verst\u00f6rendem Film gab den Zuschauern Aufschluss und Orientierungshilfe \u00fcber die Filmidee und deren Umsetzung. Die Geschichte des Films hat ihren Ursprung in den n\u00e4chtlichen Erz\u00e4hlungen seines Gro\u00dfvaters. Henriques verbindet diese mit Berichten \u00fcber Inzest. Diese Elementen bringt er in eine moderne Form, eine Mischung aus Liebesgeschichte, Science Fiktion und Krimi. <strong>&#8220;Morbayassa&#8221;<\/strong> ist eine typische Geschichte vieler afrikanischer Frauen, die sich aus Zwangsverh\u00e4ltnissen befreien und nach ihrer eigenen Identit\u00e4t suchen.<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-bottom: none;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"border-bottom: medium none; text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2866\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image020.png\" alt=\"image020\" width=\"294\" height=\"200\" \/><br \/>\nFilipe Henriques<\/td>\n<td style=\"border-bottom: medium none; text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2867\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image022.png\" alt=\"image022\" width=\"261\" height=\"200\" \/><br \/>\nHans-J\u00f6rg Heinrich und Cheick F. Camara<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>In den beiden Kurzfilmprogrammen beeindruckte vor allem der Spielfilm &#8220;<strong>Twaaga&#8221; <\/strong>von Cedric Ido aus Burkina Faso. Dieser Film verbindet die Fantasiewelt des Jungen Manu, ein Superheld zu sein, mit der tragischen Realit\u00e4t des burkinischen &#8220;Superhelden&#8221; Thomas Sankara, die beide am Ende get\u00f6tet werden.<\/p>\n<p>Weitere Highlights des Festivals waren unsere beiden Schwerpunktthemen.<\/p>\n<p>Vor allem der Dokumentarfilm <strong>&#8220;Boy Saloum&#8221;<\/strong> der Regisseurin Audrey Gallet und die anschlie\u00dfenden Ausf\u00fchrungen zu der <strong>Protestbewegung &#8220;Y&#8217;en a marre&#8221;<\/strong> des eingeladenen senegalesischen Rappers und Politaktivisten <strong>&#8220;Thiat&#8221;<\/strong> rissen die Anwesenden immer wieder zu tosendem Applaus hin. Aufgrund dieser lang anhaltenden Proteste wurde eine dritte illegale Amtszeit des amtierende senegalesische Pr\u00e4sident Abdoulaye Wade verhindert.<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-bottom: none;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"border-bottom: medium none; text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2868\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image024.png\" alt=\"image024\" width=\"275\" height=\"190\" \/><br \/>\nThiat<\/td>\n<td style=\"border-bottom: medium none; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image026.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2869\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image026.png\" alt=\"image026\" width=\"274\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nDiskussion im Kino<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Der zweite Film <strong>&#8220;Revolution mit blo\u00dfen H\u00e4nden&#8221;<\/strong> zeigte, wie vor einem Jahr in Burkina Faso die <strong>B\u00fcrgerbewegung &#8220;B\u00fcrgerbesen&#8221;<\/strong> den ebenfalls eine dritte illegale Amtszeit anstrebenden Pr\u00e4sidenten Blaise Compaor\u00e9 buchst\u00e4blich aus dem Land fegte.<\/p>\n<p>Zu unserem zweiten Schwerpunkt <strong>&#8220;Queer Afrika&#8221;,<\/strong> zur Situation von Lesben, Schwulen und Transgender in Afrika, hatten wir <strong>Imam Muhsin Hendricks<\/strong> und die Jugendreferentin <strong>Wisaal Abrahams<\/strong> der s\u00fcdafrikanischen Organisation <strong>&#8220;The inner circle&#8221;<\/strong> sowie <strong>Uta Schwenke<\/strong> vom &#8220;<strong>LSVD&#8221;<\/strong> und der &#8220;<strong>Hirschfeld Eddy Stiftung&#8221; <\/strong>zur Diskussion eingeladen. Diese entwickelte sich zu einer sehr pers\u00f6nlichen Befragung der beiden s\u00fcdafrikanischen G\u00e4ste \u00fcber ihren Lebensweg, ihrem &#8220;coming out&#8221; und die Reaktion in ihrer muslimischen Gemeinde, bei Freunden und Bekannten. Sie berichteten \u00fcber ihre Organisation <strong>&#8220;The inner circle&#8221;<\/strong> und die Ausweitung ihrer Aktivit\u00e4ten in afrikanische L\u00e4nder bis hin nach Asien und Europa. Uta Schwenke stellte die engagierte Arbeit des &#8220;<strong>LSVD&#8221;<\/strong> in Deutschland und Afrika dar.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image028.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2870 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image028.png\" alt=\"image028\" width=\"460\" height=\"249\" \/><\/a>Gefreut haben wir uns auch \u00fcber die Zusammenarbeit mit Uta Reuster-Jahn, die am &#8220;<strong>AAI&#8221; <\/strong>der <strong>Uni Hamburg<\/strong> Videoproduktionen aus Tansania vorstellte. Bei der Veranstaltungsreihe ging es auch um die Problematik der \u00dcbersetzung von Swahili ins Deutsche.<\/p>\n<p>Auch konnten wir zwei zehnte <strong>Schulklassen<\/strong> zur Vorf\u00fchrung des Films <strong>&#8220;Making of &#8211; Kamikaze&#8221;<\/strong> des tunesischen Regisseurs <strong>Nouri Bouzid<\/strong> begr\u00fc\u00dfen. Der Film zeigt anschaulich, wie junge Menschen in bedr\u00e4ngten pers\u00f6nlichen Situationen von fundamentalistischen Anwerbern in deren Kreise hineingezogen und politisch missbraucht werden k\u00f6nnen. Dazu hatten wir eine spannende Diskussion mit <strong>Mahmut Erdem<\/strong>, der als Anwalt Familien betreut, deren Kinder zum IS gehen und dem Studenten f\u00fcr Islamwissenschaft, <strong>Iftikar Malik<\/strong>, der ebenfalls Kontakt zu betroffenen Familien hat.<\/p>\n<p>Mit einem stimmungsvollen Tanzfest am letzten Samstag des Festivals feierten wir mit einer bunten Mischung von afrikanischen Klassikern unser gelungenes afrikanisches Filmfestal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image030.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2871 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image030.png\" alt=\"image030\" width=\"265\" height=\"149\" \/><\/a>F\u00fcr <strong>November 2016<\/strong> machen wir uns nun auf die Suche nach neuen spannenden Filmproduktionen vom vielf\u00e4ltigen Kontinent Afrika.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image032.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2872 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image032.png\" alt=\"image032\" width=\"365\" height=\"248\" \/><\/a>Bis dahin bleibt dran, lasst die Filme nachwirken und macht neue Begegnungen mit Afrika.<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-bottom: none;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center; As the organizers of this festival we are very proud and pleased with the outcome. Rarely has anyone dug so deeply into the tradition and philosophy of an African people in an African film. The revelation of the declaration of human rights in the large West African Mandingo empire 500 years prior to the declaration of human rights in Europe was particularly impressive. It presented political as well as individual facets of the shootings of peacefully demonstrating miners in South Africa. The following discussion with the British lawyer <strong>James Nichol<\/strong> showed once more how this strike that was put down violently through the ruling ANC party under President Jacob Zuma has permanently changed the political landscape of South Africa.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image012.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2862 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image012.png\" alt=\"image012\" width=\"464\" height=\"314\" \/><\/a>In general, this year the documentaries left the deepest impact. They are authentic films that acutely describe the conditions of life in African regions. Diarra<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>We had invited two filmmakers: Filipe Henriques from Guinea-Bissau with his film <strong>\u201eO Espinho da Rosa\u201c<\/strong> and Cheik Fantamady Camara from Guinea with <strong>\u201eM<\/strong><strong>o<\/strong><strong>rbayassa &#8211; Le serment de Koumba\u201c<\/strong>. The discussion after Henriques&#8217; unusual and upsetting film provided the audience with some insight and guidance about the idea of the film and its realization. The story of the film originates in his grandfather&#8217;s telling of stories at night. Henriques\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 combined this story with accounts of incest. This film ties together the fantasy world of the boy Manu, in which he is a superhero, with the tragic reality of the Burkinabe \u201esuperhero\u201c Thomas Sankara; both were killed at the end.<\/p>\n<p>More highlights of the festival were our two central themes.<\/p>\n<p>In particular the documentary <strong>\u201eBoy Saloum\u201c<\/strong> by director Audrey Gallet and the subsequent remarks on the protest movement &#8220;<strong>Y&#8217;en a marre&#8221;<\/strong> by our guest, the Senegalese rapper and political activist <strong>Thiat<\/strong> prompted repeated hurricanes of applause from the audience. Because of those long lasting protests a third and unconstitutional term of the then sitting Senegalese president Abdoulaye Wade could be prevented.<\/p>\n<table style=\"border-bottom: none;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"border-bottom: medium none; text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2868\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image024.png\" alt=\"image024\" width=\"275\" height=\"190\" \/><br \/>\nThiat<\/td>\n<td style=\"border-bottom: medium none; text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image026.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2869\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image026.png\" alt=\"image026\" width=\"274\" height=\"190\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nDiskussion im Kino<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>The second film <strong>\u201eRevolution mit blo\u00dfen H\u00e4nden\u201c<\/strong> showed how a year ago the citizens&#8217; movement &#8220;<strong>B\u00fcrgerbesen&#8221;<\/strong> literally swept President Blaise Compaor\u00e9, who also attempted a third unconstitutional term, out of office in Burkina Faso.<\/p>\n<p>For our second thematic focus &#8220;<strong>Queer Africa&#8221;<\/strong> on the situation of lesbians, gays, and transgender people in Africa we had invited <strong>Imam Muhsin Hendricks<\/strong> and youth adviser <strong>Wisaal Abrahams<\/strong> of the South African organization &#8220;<strong>The Inner Circle&#8221;<\/strong> as well as <strong>Uta Schwenke<\/strong> of the &#8220;<strong>LSVD&#8221;<\/strong> and the &#8220;<strong>Hirschfeld Eddy Foundation&#8221;<\/strong> to join in discussion. This exchange turned into a very personal interview with both South African guests about their lives, their \u201ecoming out,\u201c and the reactions of their Muslim community, friends, and acquaintances. They gave a lively report on their organization &#8220;<strong>The Inner Circle&#8221;<\/strong> and the expansion of its activities to other African countries and as far as Asia and Europe. Uta Schwenke introduced the dedicated work of the &#8220;<strong>LSVD&#8221;<\/strong> in Germany and Africa.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image028.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2870 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image028.png\" alt=\"image028\" width=\"460\" height=\"249\" \/><\/a>We were pleased to collaborate with Uta Reuster-Jahn who introduced films from Tanzania at <strong>Hamburg University&#8217;s &#8220;Asian African Institut&#8221;<\/strong> that focused on problems of translating Swahili into German.<\/p>\n<p>We were also able to welcome two tenth-grade classes to a screening of <strong>\u201eMaking of \u2013 Kamikaze\u201c<\/strong> by Tunisian producer Nouri Bouzid. The film illustrates how young people in dire personal situations can be drawn into the circles of fundamentalist recruiters and be politically abused. On that topic we had an exciting discussion with <strong>Mahmut Erdem<\/strong> who, as a lawyer, counsels families whose children join ISIS and a student of Islamic studies, <strong>Iftikar Malik<\/strong> who is also in contact with such families.<\/p>\n<p>On the last Saturday of the festival we danced and celebrated the completion of a successful fourth African film fest with a potpourri of musical classics.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image030.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2871 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image030.png\" alt=\"image030\" width=\"265\" height=\"149\" \/><\/a>Now we are starting to search for new exciting film productions from the diverse African continent for <strong>November 2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image032.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2872 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.augen-blicke-afrika.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/image032.png\" alt=\"image032\" width=\"365\" height=\"248\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<table style=\"border-bottom: none;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"text-align: center;
